Vista Cova Welcomes Donté Shannon, FASAE, CAE

Gaithersburg, MD – Vista Cova, a company of expert facilitators supporting strategic planning, member engagement, and governance design, is excited to announce its collaboration with Donté Shannon, FASAE, CAE, as a contributing Strategy Advisor.

The collaboration with Donté comes as a result of increased demand for strategic leadership insight within the non-profit community. Vista Cova Founder and CEO, Lowell Aplebaum, FASAE, CAE, CPF, says, “Donté’s voice and leadership has shaped the association community for years. His natural facilitation expertise, executive experience, mindset, and deep care and commitment to the association community makes him a perfect fit for the Vista Cova team.”

Donté will serve in a consulting capacity to Vista Cova, advising on strategy design and development, leading strategic planning facilitation, and developing thought pieces and strategy resources. “I’m excited to contribute my knowledge and expertise to the work that Vista Cova is doing in the non-profit and association communities. I look forward to not only contributing my expertise in strategy, governance, and operations, but also further diversifying my portfolio of industries and professions to which I will be of service,” says Shannon.

Donté has been in association management for 17 years, and served as Chief Executive Officer for multiple associations. He draws upon his experience working with small, large, professional, trade, medical and foundation organizations. A devoted professional and decorated leader, Donté has served as Chair of the CAE Commission, and was recently recognized as a digitalNow Leader of Distinction and ASAE Fellow.

The Vista Cova team consists of experts (advisors) who are engaged based on the individual needs of each client. They bring expertise in areas ranging from strategic planning, governance design, chapters and components, value definition, global growth strategies, research, organizational development, team coaching, marketing, to diversity/equity/inclusion.

Lowell Aplebaum, CAE, CPF is the CEO and Strategy Catalyst of Vista Cova. As a Certified Professional Facilitator, Lowell frequently provides dynamic sessions to organizations - getting volunteers, members, and staff involved through experiential learning approaches.

After starting his career in the informal education realm, over the course of more than a decade, Lowell has worked inside associations on membership and value, volunteer leadership establishment and growth, professional development and learning, global alliance building, communications and marketing, online and in-person communities, operations, finance, HR, and staff oversight. After serving as the Chief Operating Officer for a medical association, Lowell founded Vista Cova – returning to his passion of facilitating for and partnering with volunteer leaders, members, and staff.
